Fibre Optic Broadband

Why Fibre?

Fibre is hundreds of times faster than your average broadband connection. Reliable and stable, it is not prone to copper cable theft and provides super-fast speeds for media streaming, downloading, telephone calls, and security system monitoring. Fibre carries more information at the same time than an ordinary copper cable, making it ideal for high load use.

Fibre is future proof. The same fibre can run your internet, your telephones, your TV services, your CCTV services, and other services that don't even exist today. We only use single-mode fibre of the highest quality. All our links are certified up to 10GB. The fibre you are using today could provide much faster speeds in the future simply by swapping out the connectors on the end of the fibre and upgrading the routers.

We have our own Cape Connect fibre network, over which we offer both home and business services. We also provide service over third party fibre networks, in areas where we do not have our own infrastructure.

Cape Connect Fibre

Our Cape Connect fibre products and prices are ONLY available over existing infrastructure. If you are not already in a fibre-enabled suburb, apartment block, residential complex or business location with a Cape Connect fibre termination point against your wall, we cannot offer you a Cape Connect fibre service.

Running fibre costs more than R1 million per kilometre. We do not run fibre to individual homes. However, we are willing to discuss running fibre to "fibrehoods". A fibrehood is an area where everyone in the area signs up for a fibre service with no exceptions.

Our Fibre Cover maps for the Cape Connect Fibre network are available here.

Third Party Fibre

Products and pricing for service provided over third party infrastructure vary according to the terms of our agreements with these providers. As we are at the mercy of third parties, we cannot guarantee quality of service over another service provider’s network.

We currently offer service over the following third-party networks:

Frogfoot

SA Digital Villages

TT Connect

OpenServe

Octotel

Metrofibre

Vuma

Teralink
